In via Cavour, next to a garden dominated by a large Lebanon cedar, the House of Pomegranates can be seen. Once used as a hotel, now a private house, it is situated on two floors and exhibits some notable examples of the Art Nouveau style in the Veneto region. The surface of the walls is enhanced by the pictorial decoration developed in strips starting from below the cornices to street level. <\/p>\n

Although modifications made over the years have altered the original appearance, some elements can still be seen such as the colpo di frusta (whiplash) strip that runs under the window of the attic and the ornamentation of pomegranate fruits around the windows (once a low arch). Also, you can see the border that runs over the first string-course with hellebore flowers together with the pilasters situated in the corners of the house and the excellent balustrades of balconies with flower holders.
On the other side of Via Cavour there is a building which was formerly Hotel due Mori. In past times it was decorated with a relief painting in monochrome giving a striking effect.<\/p>\n

On the left, where Via Lelia begins, we find Casa Maltauro, a three-storey building on the surface of which we can still see traces of the ancient frescoes that adorned it. The beige ochre squares on a cerulean blue background show the effect of a pergola with the sky in the background and, beneath the windows, masks reminiscent of the classical period can be seen. Also the rear of the building, towards the courtyard, showed illustrated decorations with very fine touches that are only possible with lime paint. Inside you can still see traces of the decorations that once adorned the ceilings and walls of the rooms rented to holidaymakers. <\/p>\n
